The first-ever international matches of the Georgian national sitting volleyball men’s team took place on 28th, 29th and 30th of April 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The friendly match was played against the national team of Azerbaijan. The match and the Georgian Para Volleyball Federation received great publicity as the match was broadcast in the local news.
The representatives of the Georgian government, army and the mayor of Tbilisi were also present together with 300 Georgian fans to support their team. All enjoyed a nearly two-hour-long match which was finally won 3-2 by Team Azerbaijan.
