Rio Paralympic Sitting Volleyball Floor Finds a Home in Poland

The 2016 Rio Paralympics Sitting Volleyball floor has found a home in Gliwice (POL) where the coach of the National Men’s team Adam Malik has a sitting volleyball section.

Following the generous donation from the Gerflor Group with the help of World ParaVolley, the floor was up for grab for any nations who fulfilled the conditions below:

  • the federation should be a para volleyball certified one
  • the federation had to be a European one
  • the floor had to be picked it up nearby the Gerflor factory in France Tarare (Lyon) no later than end of June 2019
  • a Gerflor sticker  had to be put on the floor by the donated federation upon reception of the floor

ParaVolley Europe wasted no time in advertising this great opportunity and received an expression of interest from two nations: POLAND and FRANCE.

This was the floor before

Both nations submitted their proposals why they should be the recipients of such a great gift and after a review by the PVE Board of Administration members, it was decided that Poland would benefit the most from the floor.
