Announcing the 2023 European Sitting Volleyball Championship – Men & Women in Caorle (ITA)

The city of Caorle in Veneto (ITA) will host the 2023 European Sitting Volleyball Championships for women and men from 9th to 15th October 2023.

The two continental events therefore land for the first time in Italy and will see the participation of 12 women’s and as many men’s national teams who will play at the “Valter Vicentini” sports hall.

The most important event in the calendar for the host nations national teams will see both teams gender compete. The girls of Amauri Ribeiro, vice-champions in charge, will be a force to reckon with while the men’s national team, led by coach Alizera Moameri, will take the court with the aim of improving on thirteenth place, results both obtained in the previous edition organised in 2021 in Kemer (TUR).

In the meantime, preparations for the event continue. On 3rd and 4th February, there was a meeting between the city institutions, representatives of FIPAV and ParaVolley Europe. The meeting was attended by the Councilor for Sport of the City of Caorle Mattia Munerotto, FIPAV vice president Adriano Bilato, Para Volley Europe president Branko Mihorko, ParaVolley Europe General Manager Nello Calleja, ParaVolley Europe Marketing Director Guido Pasciari together with FIPAV Veneto president Roberto Maso, CR Veneto Vice president Giancarlo Vianello and Head of Olympic and Paralympic Training FIPAV Libenzo Conti.

The continental events in Italy will also be an excellent vehicle for the promotion and development of the Paralympic discipline in the country and in Europe.
