Women’s powerhouses measure up

After a successful start to the competition calendar with the 2023 Champions Cup Men in Dresden (GER) last weekend, it’s the turn of Europe’s top women’s sitting volleyball teams to gather this coming weekend in the heart of European ParaVolley, as Šempeter gets to host yet another edition of the prestigious 2023 Sitting Volleyball European Gold Nations League.

Slovenia, the 2022 silver medallists, host defending champions Italy, 2021 silver medallists Ukraine and last year’s bronze medallists Germany, alongside Poland.

Many hands over the net and going for the ball, as Italy clash with Slovenia in the deciding match for gold at last year’s edition of the European Golden Nations League. Both teams will be on hand again this year vying for the prize of the competition.

The three-day tournament, which begins Friday afternoon, is a single round-robin pool with the first- and second-ranked teams playing out for gold in the final and the third- and fourth-ranked sides clashing for bronze.

All the action will be available in real time online through the dedicated website of the competition:
